Summer 2010 Highlights
Summer Worship Schedule (Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend) 9:30 AM. Sermon series: The Gospel of Mark. Kidz Town Children’s Ministry is held each Sunday during worship for children up to grades 5. Nursery Care is also provided.
Running/Walking Club. Come join us Saturday mornings at 8:30 am at Forges Field. We meet in the main parking lot in front of the playground. Our walk/run is 2.2 miles. This is a great way to get exercise, fresh air, and make new friends!
Pastor’s Bible Study (Gospel of Matthew). We will meet the following Sunday evenings from 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm (June 6 & 20; July 11 & 25; August 1 & 22). Please come and join us for great discussion and an opportunity to meet new people!
Jr. Youth Group end of the year party. Sunday, June 13th beginning at 3 pm at the Haley’s. Please bring your own towel as we will be going swimming! We will also have a cookout with delicious hamburgers and hotdogs. Ice cream sundaes will be provided by Cream (Lenora and Craig’s new ice cream store).
UMW Dinner at Isaac’s Restaurant. Monday, June 14th at 6:30 pm. All women are invited. Sign-up on Atrium bulletin board.
Angel Food Ministries (a partnership with New Hope Chapel). Purchase quality, nutritious food for a fraction of the cost of supermarket prices. Faith Day at the Brockton Rox is June 27th. The baseball game begins at 1 pm with a Christian concert following the game. We have reserved 40 seats. For more information, contact Judith (plymouthumc@verizon.net)
HAMBURGERS, HOTDOGS & HOLINESS – Our first event is scheduled for Monday, June 28th (cookout 6 pm; presentation 7 pm) The evening will be sponsored by our new “Running/Waling Club”. We will hear running coach, Pat O’Connor on the subject, "To Shoe or Not to Shoe, That is the Question" - An In-Depth Look Into the Science & Art of Efficient Foot Mechanics vs. Barefoot Running. Please join us for good food, an engaging talk, and great fellowship. Childcare is provided!!!
Vacation Bible School (Rain Forest Adventure) will be held the week of July 26 – 30, 2010. Each day will be filled with fun activities, water games, a scripture lesson of the day, and much more. VBS is for children age 4 through grade 6.
Men’s Breakfast will be held on Saturdays, July 10 & August 14 starting at 8:00 AM. Cooking begins at 6:30 AM. You’re welcome to come & keep the cook company! Signup sheets are posted on the Atrium board.
Sr. Youth Group end of the summer beach party. Sunday, August 29th beginning at 3 pm at Long Beach. All youth grades 9-12 are invited (please bring a friend). We will have a cookout, devotions, games, swimming, and lots of fun!
Heart Coach for Life (Thursday evenings at 7 – 8 pm). Come hear great acoustic music and listen to engaging talk by Don Wood (Heart coach) on life’s most important issues.
MONTHLY FOOD DRIVE – We collect non-perishable food items. Please drop off donations on Sundays or during the week when the office is open. No expired items please!!
End of the Summer, All-Church Picnic on Sunday, August 29th following our 9:30 am Worship Service. A sign-up sheet will be posted for July & August on the bulletin board in the Atrium.
